 Generic files
Several generic file formats are available throughout the system to enable the electronic loading of data directly into Musicalc. The system comes complete with sample files and file specification, as well as comprehensive help. These include:
Loading single track digital downloads There is a facility to load single tracks information into the Digital Download databank file from Excel files
Loading digital download sales: Single track and full product download sales information can be loaded directly into the system from Excel files sent to you by online distributors.
Song catalogue import: A facility to load song titles and copyright information directly into the system from Excel files is available. This can be a good way to 'kick-start' the data input for new clients, or as an ongoing process for existing clients who may receive song catalogues from publishers and others.
Remote Entry : Sales Figures and Copyright Receipts can be entered on 'remote' computers and then loaded in to the 'main' system for accounting purposes - 'remote' systems do not even have to be connected via a network !
 Currencies :The system can produce royalty statements in anything up to 96 different currencies using a cross-rate currency conversion system.
Sales and Receipt Loading : Musicalc is able to supply a continually expanding list of programs that can be used to load record sales and copyright receipt statements received from licensees, distributors, publishers or collection societies, directly into the system.
Continuous Enhancement : One of the most important aspects of the system is our commitment to ongoing enhancement of the software. New updates are produced on a very regular basis, and supplied to all clients. Each update providing the user with new features and developments. This ensures that the software you use is always kept up-to-date by incorporating our own ongoing developments, changes in royalty accounting rules and additional features requested by users.
Data Migration : If you are using some other accounting package, we will pleased to assist you in converting and importing your data into Musicalc
Upgrading Your Software : With Musicalc software you need never worry that your software is not up-to-date. New versions will be sent to you on a regular basis. You get all the developments as part of the service.

 Hardware Recommendations :
• Computers: We suggest current generation Pentiums, running Windows
XP Professional
• Printers: Musicalc is compatible with most current Laser, Inkjet and Dot Matrix printers.
When purchasing a new printer ~ select one that has PCL standard printer codes to enable it to emulate Hewlett Packard, Epson and IBM as well as having Postscript functionality.
Often entry level printers do not have these features and may not work with Musicalc. Multi-function printers (printer, copier, fax etc. all in one unit) can also be problematic.
Musicalc offices have used Brother printers for many years - the latest was purchased in September 2006 and is the HL-5250DN
Note: Some low priced printers will not work correctly. For example, the Brother HL1430 does not seem to work. This is because it expects to receive all pages as individual 'pictures' rather than separate lines of data.
